Wanted Review *spoilers*

Well I watched the new Wanted movie today and while it was a bit predictable at times, really enjoyed the movie. Angelina Jolie was absolutely stunning as usual and kicked some serious ass in this flick. The twist was predictable but the ending I didn't expect.

The biggest thing this movie had going for it was its fight scenes. The final battle was awesome with all the bloody details.

Morgan Freedman played a great mentor/villian and the casting for this movie was dead on. Even the minor characters were memorable and its easy to find a favorite among the bunch.

Overall I would give this movie a B+. While the plot isn't revolutionary, you will have a lot of fun and be entertained throughout the film.

Farewell Bill.

Well today's the day, Mr. Gates has finally stepped down. I'd just like to thank Bill for everything that he's given us through the years. While he's had his hits and misses through the years, the man has forever changed technology and will be missed. His work with charity is practically un-matched. He retires as the 3rd richest man in the world. (After holding the #1 spot but wishing he wasn't claiming the position was too hard.)

Thanks Bill, for everything, good luck in your venture to cure the world of poverty. If anyone can get it done, you can.

How do you use push email?

Are you more into nudge-mail or shove-mail? To help you make up your mind, below are some totally un-researched personality-types that might surface.

(Usual disclaimer applies: any resemblances, passing or otherwise to anyone dead or living is not intentional and strictly coincidental… wait a minute, nobody is forcing you to read this guide anyway right?!)

The Librarian Ninja

  • Synchronize your entire Exchange folder into your Pocket PC using ActiveSync when it is tethered to your PC/Laptop.
  • All means all. Compromise is not a word in your dictionary. You are a librarian, so everything is archived right? Everything is in your Pocket PC, including file attachments from half a decade ago. Space isn’t a problem because you have configured all the attachments to be saved on your spanking new 2GB mini-SD card. Crack-berry fans, go eat your hearts out.
  • Set it to option c, “When new items arrive” so that you are fully updated on new mails that comes into your Inbox.
  • And because you have all your Emails within reach, you can immediately verify if the claim by your staff pertaining to that amendment in the contract 2 months ago is really true.
  • Deliver an immediate, scathing ninja strike via Direct Push if the claim turns out to be false.

The Miser Workaholic

  • Synchronize the latest batch of pesky mails that seemed to have creep into your Inbox overnight before leaving for work in the morning.
  • Because company isn’t paying for your telecommunication charges, set it to Synchronize “Manually” to save on GPRS traffic.
  • Select “Send outgoing mail immediately” so that you can answer those urgent mails when commuting to work on the train.
  • Get nagged for two whole weeks by wife when attempting to do the same while on holiday.

The Blackberry Wannabe

  • Synchronize using cable? No way! Nothing less than “When new items arrive” and “Send outgoing mail immediately” will do for you.
  • It is so cool and geek to be able to talk loudly on your Windows Mobile phone on the crowded train and say: “Sure, no problem, let me send you the mail now.”
  • Problem is, all the Emails you have in your Inbox are forwarded to yourself by yourself. Because the only real Emails you ever receive are shows “Hotmail Staff” under the From field.

The Selective Road Warrior

  • Synchronization is set to “When new items arrive” – you won’t be called a road warrior with anything less isn’t it?
  • Synchronize the last 3 days of mail from your Inbox as well as the last 3 months of mails from your Sent folder just in case.
  • Yes you have the latest 2GB mini-SD cards, but with lexipedia, half a dozen dictionaries, assorted PDF, CHMs and enough EBooks to last you through a nuclear winter, you have got to be selective you know.
  • Actually, you used to have two of the 2GB mini-SD card. Well, until one day while you were swapping them on the move, one of them popped out of the spring-loaded SD slot, and into the elevator shaft.

Hotmail -> Live change

I've had my hotmail account for four years now, but I recently decided to switch over to the newer live.com domain. I had some doubts about doing this because I used my old email extensively and it received a lot of email. Though with a tool, provided by Microsoft, I was able to port all of my existing mail to my new address as well as forward any mail coming in. I am waiting for my ld mail to be imported (Giving the service atleast 24 hours) and if this works out i'll be estactic. I felt like my email needed a change so I completely renamed it but I will be keeping this space and continue to update it; and only use my new live id for emailing purposes.

Sent from my Windows Mobile® phone.

Paid for Checking Work Email at Home?

Recently ABC news writers have demanded to be paid time-and-a-half for checking their blackberries on their own time.

Personally, I think that checking work emails at home isn't that big of a deal. Most are tied to their blackberries and constantly check them so it isn't that much of an inconvience. I also agree with the argument that so many do personal errands at work so doing a few things like checking their email and staying connected isn't too unreasonable. This is to a point however, any out of work projects or dealing with something that takes more that 30 should incur some type of compensation for personal time lost.

We are in an age where many professions require us to be connected at all times and if you don't wish to be on-call you should switch professions.

Slow Day

Well today is a fairly slow day. Not really much todo, some shopping but other than that not shit. Planning on seeing the new Hulk movie sometime soon when I can get my cash flow going again. Job search continues so whoever wishes to employ me for great pay, feel free.
