7月31日 Manny goes westWell its official, Manny "Man-Ram" Ramirez is on his way to LA and Joe Torre while Jason Bay is going to Boston from Pittsburgh. Pitt also received four prospects, two from Boston and two from Los Angeles Boston gave up OF Brandon Moss and RHP Craig Hansen. Personally I feel like they gave up too much. I understand that they wanted Man-Ram outta there but they also lose the OF, Moss, who they kept around to take over for Manny in case he left. They also got rid of a developing pitcher who can throw the ball 97-98mph. This decision may come back to bite them in the ass. I have no problem with Bay however. At this point in the season him and Manny have very similar numbers and his defense is definitely better than Manny's. The team is definitely going to have to step their offense up as a whole. Hopefully this all works out for the Sox, only time will tell. 7月29日 Rest In Peace Ruslana KorshunovaI have just recently heard the news that 20 year old model, Ruslana Korshunova passed away yesterday at 2:30pm. She fell(or jumped) from her 9th floor balcony at 130 Water Street in Manhattan's Financial District. There were no signs of a struggle so this looks to be a suicide. Three months ago she declared: "I am so lost. Will I ever find myself?" and "My dream is to fly. Oh, my rainbow is too high." The Russian model was said to be heartbroken, lonely, and homesick. It has also been reported that she attempted to kill herself atleast 5 times since she was fifteen. Ruslana was the face of Blugirl by Blumarine, Clarins, Ghost, Girbaud, Kenzo Accessories, Marithé & François, Max Studio, Moschino, Old England, Pantene Always Smooth, Paul Smith and Vera Wang lingerie. Goodbye to Ms. Korshunova. You left us before your time. The fashion world will miss this talented beauty. 7月25日 The Peek - Worth it?A new mobile startup, Peek, is planning to release an email only device. Targeted at a $99 retail price and a $20 monthly charge this device will run on Tmobile's wireless network. The device won't play your mp3s, make phone calls or play video games. This purely email device will be thin, be fitted with a qwerty keyboard and said to have a bright, rich screen. While this sounds like a good idea for someone who just wants a simple phone to make calls and outsource the email duties to another device; this device is just over kill for people who carry smartphones and UMPCs already. I, however, don't see the point in paying an extra $20 a month for email when yo can just upgrade to a smartphone. This may work out in the corporate world. I can see this fairly cheap device being used for Work Email as long as it supports push email features. Without push email being supported I don't see this thing taking off at all.

While I loved the phone it was definitely starting to show its age. The Sprint store didn't have any replacements for my phone so they upgraded me to a Mogul. I absolutely love this new phone. I flashed it with mobile 6.1 and this thing is superior to my old phone in every way. Double the memory, greater battery life and a much sleeker design. While it technically isn't smaller or lighter it definitely feels like it. This thing will do fine to hold me over until the blackberry bold or htc touch pro. 7月13日 Apple's MobileMe worth the price? Many are rejoicing over Apple's new push email/synchronization feature. However, many are also griping over the $99 price tag that comes along with the service. First of all, I would just like to say while I enjoy free things like everyone else, I understand that everything can't be free and at the end of the day we all are trying to put food on the table for our family. The $99 fee is going towards the developers and maintenance workers who work with keeping the service running. Personally, I prefer working with hosted exchange and feel safe with it. The pricing isn't bad and in some cases a free of charge service is offered. MobileMe has been quirky and has experienced some un-welcomed downtime. As of now I would recommend passing on it until it has had time to mature. For the time being, RIM is still king in the push email world with Exchange following close behind. The newcomer, MobileMe still needs to grow up and become more responsible if it wants to compete in the corporate world with the big boys. 7月12日 The Pursuit of HappinessWhat is happiness really? Is happiness buying a lot of shit you don't really need but want because you think it will make you feel better? Is happiness financial security? Is happiness making people proud of you? Or is happiness simply doing what you love regardless if its not what everyone wants you todo. Regardless if it makes you rich or not. I'm really not sure what it all means. I buy shit I don't need and often regret it soon after. I have to have the shades, the shoes, the jeans and the shirt. All must be designer with a high sticker price to be worth anything. I want the big job. I want to wear the suit to work and have that financial security. At the same time I want todo what I love. Can I have all of this? Can happiness really be a simple yes or no decision? I don't think so. I think to be hppy you have to give some things up. You have to say yes to some things and no to others. You have to do whats right for you in the long run rather than the right now. Because long term happiness trumps the happiness in the short term. Simple short term happiness often results in long term regret. But what the hell do I know? I'm lost right now too. I'm no wise prophet; just a shit talker talking some shit. Maybe happiness is an easy thing to come by and I just have a clue what I'm doing or what I want. The latter is probally right. |
